  • 12-16 ounces of raw liver
  • 1 1/2 pounds of white flour
  • 8 ounces of Oats
  • 3 stock cubes (chicken, lamb or beef flavoured)
  • 1 cup of water
  • 2 lightly beaten eggs

Instructions for Gourmet Dog Biscuit Recipe:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 F/180 C/Gas Mark 4.

  2. Using a sharp knife (or a food processor) chop the liver into very small pieces.

  3. In a large bowl, combine the flour and oats, eggs, and chopped liver.

  4. Crumble the stock cubes into the mixture. If they don't crumble well, dissolve them in the water from the recipe.

  5. Add sufficient water to make a firm dough. If the dough is too sticky, sprinkle a little flour over the dough.

  6. Roll out onto a lightly floured worktop or board to a thickness of 1/4 inch or 1/2 inch (0.625/1.25 cm) - depending upon how thick you want the biscuits to be.

  7. Using your favourite doggie cutter, cut out the shapes and place onto a non-stick backing sheet (you'll probably need more than one) and place in the oven for between 45 and 60 minutes.

  8. Your dog will love you (even more) for trying another gourmet dog biscuit recipe from our tasty selection below, especially the cheesy dog biscuits!

Gourmet Dog Treat Recipes: Cheesy Bites!

  • 1 1/4 cup of whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup of oats
  • 1/4 cup of bran or wheat germ
  • 1/4 cup of brewers yeast
  • 1/2 cup of grated cheese (any hard cheese will be fine)
  • 1 medium-sized egg (fresh free range eggs are best)
  • 1 tablespoon good quality olive oil
  • 1/2 cup of vegetable or chicken stock (a stock cube works fine)

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 F/180 C/Gas Mark 4.

  2. Take one large bowl and add the whole wheat flour, oats, bran/wheat germ, yeast and grated cheese. Mix together well.

  3. Beat the egg, oil and stock into another medium-sized bowl.

  4. Add the wet mixture to the flour mixture and blend together with love until you have a firm dough. If you need to add a little more flour to stiffen the dough, then do so.

  5. Sprinkle some flour onto a board and roll out your dough to around 1/4 inch thickness (0.625 cm) and use a bone shaped-cookie cutter to cut out your gourmet dog biscuits.

  6. Place them on a baking tray and bake for around 30 minutes in a hot oven. Check them after 25 minutes to see if they're okay. If you need to leave them in for another five minutes (35 minutes) to brown them off, it won't hurt.

  7. When they're a lovely golden brown, switch off the oven and leave them to cool. This will help to make them lovely and crispy, just the way your dog loves them!
