I have an older cocker spaniel and she suddenly does not want to go out for walks and starts to shake. Now she has decided she does not want breakfast!
This is a dog who loves to eat. She did eat her vitamin and gluk.
I did make an appointment with the vet, however before I took her she started acting fine. I changed her food and she's eating like she usually does (anything and everything)!
She is walking fine and was jumping around when I was home yesterday. I am thinking that she was upset that all the kids were home for the holiday and that when they left she was heart-broken.
Also, her longtime companion (Gizmo the cat) was gravely ill and I had to put her down. I think she was very upset about that.
She seems to be much better.... :) Thank you all!

I'd take her to see her vet as soon as you can. It sounds like she's ill. Please don't take any chances with her health, she is relying on you to take care of her - which I'm sure you are.
I hope your cocker spaniel is not too ill and is better soon.

I'd take her to see the vet immediately, especially as she's off her food. It may be nothing other than she's getting old and simply doesn't want to go for her usual walks.
As dogs get older, they tend to need less to eat (although most Cockers will eat anytime!), and don't need to walk as far - especially if they have pains in their bones, or are arthritic.
As for the shaking, I'm afraid I can't help you on that one, perhaps someone else can do that.
