My Cocker Spaniel Has Sores On Her Back!

My cocker spaniel has sores on her back. What are they and what should I do?

Reply from Pauline - Web Owner

If you are to receive any advice from our visitors, you will need to give a little more information about the sores on your cocker spaniels back and a little detail about your dog's cirsumstances.

For example, how old is your Cocker?

Is he otherwise healthy?

Are the sores weeping?

Do they look red and inflamed?

Is his coat in good condition or is he shedding more than noraml?

Is he lethargic?

Have you changed his diet recently?

Is there a chance that he may be allergic to something he's eaten or come into contact with recently?

In any case, the sores need to be treated, and quickly before they become infected.

My advice would be to take your Cocker Spaniel to see his vet who will be able to offer an accurate diagnosis and correct treatment.

Dermatitis
by: Anonymous

Hi, my cocker has this. It is a skin problem, likely caused by some sort of allergen. My vet says its very common in alot of dogs.

You will need to take your dog to see your vet, who will likely give Maleseb, anti-biotics and anti-hystamines.
