Hi, my vet has a diet club, and my cocker spaniel was put on Burns High Oats, apparantly they get excellent results using this diet.
It can be bought from pet stores as well as it is not a prescription diet. However, having said that my cocker did not lose any weight on that, or for that matter any other diet food she was on (she has tried all but prescription).
There seems to be some uncertainty about what weight she should actually be. She weighs 13kg, but my vets practice has several vets and each has their own view from 10kg to 12kg, however, after speaking with many owners and looking at various websites, I would say she is about right.
Her latest batch of tests showed nothing wrong with her hormones, so the vet decided that that is just the weight she is!
It cost me over £500 in tests to discover that - lol!
