How Big Is The Average Cocker Spaniel Litter?

by Marissa
(Decatur)

Hi Again,

My Cocker, Emmy, is pregnant and I was researching how big the average litter is, however, I couldn't find any info.

Can anyone help me please?

Thanks!

There is no real definitive answer to your question.

However, generally, cocker spaniel bitches can produce anywhere from 1 to 12 puppies depending on the circumstances.

I understand the average litter is about 4 or 5 but it really can be anywhere above or below.

Also, it it's the bitches first litter, she may produce less than average.

Hope this helps and let us see photos of her puppies when they arrive!

Number In Litter
by: bel

Hi, I have known a cocker to only have 1 in the litter and another friend's dog had 14(!) which was a bit extreme.

My little girl had a litter a month ago and had 7 but sadly only 5 survived.

Average Number of Puppies

I believe the average number of puppies is 4 or 5, but as the last reply stated, it can be many more or less, even only 1!
