Getting Our Cockers Used To A Bed

by Janet
(UK)

Hi, our 2 cocker spaniels have slept in dog cages since we got them, at 8 weeks old.

As they are now 19 months old we would like to get them dog beds to sleep in at night.

Would you have any ideas how we can get them to use them properly and sleep in them at night, also we don't want to come down in the morning to a recked sitting room!

Any tips on getting them settled?

Janet

Dog Crate To Dog Bed
by: Jackson

If your dogs still fit into their crate, why not let them stay there? Or do you plan to get beds for them in addition to their crates?

If you're going to buy beds for them, the best way to get them used to it would be to put their blanket from their crate into their bed so that they have a familiar smell. Sprinkle the bed with a couple of small treats or dog biscuits.

Hope this helps!

Puppy Crate

I don't understand why you would want to stop your cockers from sleeping in their crates. They will see their crates as a very safe and comfy place to be - surely you don't want to take that away from them? :)
