Exercise For Cocker Spaniels

by Kevin

How much exercise does a cocker spaniel need?

Exercise For Cocker Spaniels
by: Pauline (Webowner)

Assuming your Cocker Spaniel is an adult, and not too old, I'd recommend at least a one hour walk each day - come rain or shine!

If your Cocker would like more, and you've the time and the energy, two walks a day would be even better!

If you have a puppy, you'll need to gradually work up to taking him for longer walks.

Start off with 15 minutes daily for a 5 month old puppy (or twice each day) - add a couple of minutes onto the walk each week until your puppy can handle 60 minutes.

Important note: Puppy bones are very soft so care needs to be taken - don't overwalk your puppy.

Hope this helps!

Exercising Your Dog
by: Jack

We give our Cocker around 1 hour's exercise each day and although I'm certain he'd like more(!), we simply don't have the time.

He also gets to go out in the yard whenever he wants to and is taken to the park for a run at weekends.

He seems to thrive on it and, thankfully, we don't have any behavioral problems with him.
