Cocker Spaniel Changing Colour!

My male, blue roan cocker spaniel(English), has just turned 4 years old. Over the last couple months I have noticed that on certain areas of his body (feet, belly button, upper legs), his fur is turning brown in colour.

He's been bathed and groomed in last few days which has just made it more apparent.

Could it just be that he has a recessive gene for tan/brown colour or should I be worried?

Apart from an ongoing skin allergy, he is otherwise in good health!
