Aggression Towards Kids

Hi, I am looking after a two year old cocker spaniel and he growled at my 7 year old daughter and snapped at her yesterday.

Today when I brought her back from school the dog barked and growled at her, is the dog protecting me?

I am fearful that something may happen and my children may get hurt. Please help.

Aggression Towards Kids

I'm assuming your daughter knows how to behave around dogs and that she hasn't 'provoked' the growl and snap from the dog.

If you are only looking after the dog for a short while I'd probably not bother doing anything other than keeping him away from your daughter or at the very least ensure that an adult is present at all times.

I would definitely mention it to the owner on their return as this is not normal and should be addressed.

I don't recommend you try to remedy this yourself - call in the professionals.
